What's Knittin', Kitten? Saints & Sinners Announces "Scrappy Cats Yarn Series" to Aid Animal Rescue

Net Proceeds from New Handspun Yarn Line to be Donated to A PLACE TO BARK

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 7, 2007) - As a lifelong animal lover, volunteer and rights crusader, artist Barbe Saint John knows all too well that rescue organizations are in constant need of additional funds. In an effort to bring greater awareness to the issue and to help generate funds for one of the nation's leading rescue organizations, Ms. Saint John has announced that she has created a new line of her acclaimed handspun yarns called "Scrappy Cats", and will be donating 100% of the net proceeds to A PLACE TO BARK animal rescue.

A PLACE TO BARK is an organization based in Portland, Tennessee dedicated to the welfare of animals. Founded by fellow artist Bernie Berlin in 2001, A PLACE TO BARK primarily works with Animal Control Agencies to rescue high risk animals from shelters and foster them until they are healthy and ready for adoption. A PLACE TO BARK is a 501(c) (3) registered non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization where all donations go directly to the care of the animals. Additional details of the organization, including the animals that will be helped, can be found at http://www.aplacetobark.com.

"I wanted to do something unique and special to bring more attention to the great work that Bernie is doing with A PLACE TO BARK, which depends so much on donations that save the lives of so many dogs and cats. This new "Scrappy Cats" yarn series is a way that I can exercise "strength in numbers" to help them be even more effective," said Saint John. "It's a win-win for everyone involved - I'm inspired to create a new line, my great customers get a unique handspun yarn, and it translates into new supplies for the animals that so desperately need the help that A PLACE TO BARK is willing to give."

Scrappy Cats yarns are "inspired by the multitude of the cats who have come into my life through the years," said Saint John. All yarns are one of a kind works, and handspun with a variety of fibers, threads, wools, and other materials. The Scrappy Cats line can be found at Saints & Sinners, the online store at http://www.barbesaintjohn.com. For additional information, please contact Barbe Saint John at barbe@barbesaintjohn.com.
